Music runs in the family then, Charlotte? Church looks summery in floral as she takes children to buy instruments

First musical instruments: Charlotte Church takes daughter Ruby and son Dexter to a music shop in Cardiff where she buys them a guitar and bongo drum kit

She became one of the most famous child singers of all time when she appeared on the Big, Big Talent show at the age of 11.

And now it seems Charlotte Church is getting ready to pass on her musical talents to children Ruby, two, and 18-month-old Dexter.

The 24-year-old singer was spotted purchasing a bongo drum kit for little Dexter and a miniature guitar, complete with a pink carry case, for Ruby, in Cardiff yesterday.

Looking summery in a floral dress, Charlotte appeared to be happy and relaxed - a stark contrast from recent months in which the star has seemed withdrawn following her split from fiancé Gavin Henson.
The couple decided to end their five-year relationship in March, just six weeks after announcing their engagement.
But rugby player Gavin insists he will always have fond memories of their time together.

He said: 'I'll always love Charlotte for having our two unbelievable, beautiful kids. I speak to the kids every day on the phone and I talk to Charlotte every day.

'Annoyingly, our relationship is better now than it was when we were together. It's like we've got that respect back for each other.'

However, Gavin ruled out a reconciliation, adding: 'There's no going back. There's too much water under the bridge.'

Meanwhile, Charlotte has made a fresh start for herself and her children, buying a new £1.3million six-bedroom house in a quiet village of Dinas Powys, South Glamorgan, a dozen miles away from her former marital home and just five miles from Cardiff.

Her new home, called The Spinney, is detached, a freehold with six bedrooms, four bathrooms and three reception rooms.

She is said to have put up for sale the £1.2million mansion in St Bride's Major, Wales, that she and Gavin had lived in.
