2009 Miss Hong Kong Sandy Lau is full of wisdom














































"2009 Miss Hong Kong Pageant" was held at the Hong Kong Coliseum last night. Sandy Lau was crowned as Miss Hong Kong, Germaine Li as first runner up and Mizuni Hung is the 2nd runner up. Miss International Goodwill goes to Carly Wong and Candy Yuen is Miss "Photogenic" All the winners were hot favorites as expected. 23 years old securities analyst Sandy is a university graduate. She was very surprised with the result, stating that although her goal is to become a successful performance artist, she didn't expect to win the contest. At first she was worried about her height but she won by her charisma and a good figure. Talking about the judges who said she has wisdom, Sandy replied that she should thank him for that first. She went on to say she likes reading and has a analytic mind. When asked if she would accept the job as Miss Hong Kong, Sandy said certainly, as she has prepared for the role of being a Miss Hong Kong beforehand and she thanked everybody for giving her the chance to do charity work. Sandy went home to celebrate with her family after having the celebration banquet with the company.First runner up Germaine was considered an underdog, she also didn't expect to come second in the contest either. However, Germaine is very pleased with her performance during the contest. Hot favorite 25 years old Muzuni could only scope third place. She said she had tried her very best and wasn't disappointed, but she expressed that she lacked some wisdom and couldn't answer quickly during the contest. Muzuni also won the Trendy Vision Award. When asked if she would enter the entertainment industry, she said she would try anything. Miss Lok reckoned she has high enough "EQ".Michele Reis, one of the judges said the result has been fair and predictable. She praised Sandy for being very articulate. When talking about Candy not getting into the top three position, Michele said judges look at each individual differently, and Candy has won "Miss Photogenic" anyway! As for Esther Lam , who didn't win the contest but got a lot of support from the audience and the netizen. Talking about Simon Yam who said Sandy has a lot of wisdom, even though there were remarks about this year's poor Miss HK's quality, he felt that the contestants made a big improvement with their make up etc. When asked if Leo Ku gave Candy Yuen top mark? Simon said he can't disclose the mark, but he knows she is one of the contestants who got very high mark. Simon was asked again if judges gave her high mark because of Sandra Ng, who nominated her? Simon responded by saying the marks are very fair. TVB executive Miss Lok revealed that she likes all the winners, in particular, Esther Lam who has very high "EQ". It was a pity that Mizuni didn't perform well in the contest, nevertheless, she is very beautiful that night. Miss Lok refused to discuss about Edelweiss Cheung (Miss HK 2008) and stated that it was a good thing that Sandy was crowned by former Miss HK Loretta Chu. She also told reporter that all the girls in the contest would be having audition at TVB studio the next day.
